Anschütz recalls Pre-2005 Compressed Air Cylinders

0

ULM, Germany — Anschütz has issued a recall of compressed air cylinders manufactured and delivered before December 2005. This recall only refers to the aluminum air cylinders and not to the complete target air rifle.

Anschütz will exchange the air cylinders immediately.

Also, compressed air cylinders which are leaky, defective or older than 10 years must be emptied and must not be used and filled anymore. The date of manufacture can be seen from the compressed air cylinder.

The company also asks shooters to check the compressed air cylinder for cracks. If you notice any cracks or a similar damage, please empty the compressed air cylinder at once and send it to Anschütz for inspection.

Other tips from the company: “The surface of your compressed air cylinder must not be manipulated. You especially must not engrave or otherwise penetrate the surface of the compressed air cylinder.”

Anschütz voluntarily has their compressed air cylinders checked and approved according to the European directive 199/36/EG, which can be seen from the “Pi” symbol on the compressed air cylinders. This directive requires a repeated check after 10 years.
