Para Ordnance Tac S DCX745E .45 ACP

Read Gun Tests Rating and Recommendation

The LDA trigger was very successful in this model, and the Tac S was perhaps the easiest gun in this test to shoot. It seemed to recoil slightly more than the other guns, and was a tad slower on the silhouette target. But it's an Our Pick for revolver shooters seeking to transition to a pistol.

The attachment point for the transfer bar was mounted low and captured by the frame (arrow). This protected it from damage and from becoming disconnected when the slide was removed.
The addition of an arched mainspring housing with checkering (bottom arrow) helped make the Tac S a joy to hold. Condition of the chamber (loaded or empty) was not evident, as seen here by the hammer barely being out of position (top arrow) despite being cocked and locked. In addition, the chamber indicator atop the barrel hood was too small to be of use, in our opinion. But our testers said these were nits on an otherwise good gun.
