Gun Report

Taurus Stainless Tracker .44 Magnum

Read Gun Tests Rating and Recommendation

The handy, accurate, and easy-to-shoot Tracker got our attention. It's a full-power .44 Magnum that didn't hurt our hands. The well-built, stainless gun had accuracy about equal to that of the two S&W's, and cost about half as much. It got our highest grade, and is a Best Buy.

Yep, you get only five shots. If you can't get the job done with those, you're doing something wrong. The Tracker also had the cleanest sight picture of the four test guns, fully adjustable, of course, and with a bright insert in the ramped front blade. This gun would also do well in the self-defense realm, we thought.
Our only question about the Tracker was about this lockup on the yoke. It didn't seem to do much. Time will tell.
