The magazine release found on the G30 stuck out more and made dropping the magazine much easier. But the slide release was so smooth and flat it was nearly unusable in our view. We preferred the extended release found on the G39.
The tall base pad of the Model 30's magazine not only made the entire gun look bigger but also supplied room for a full-fingered grip.
