It's beautifully assembled, accurate, sports a crisp trigger , and is a snap to maintain, thanks to its simple disassembly. Problem: We had trouble disengaging the safety on our sample.

A view of the Model 41s slide release and safety (arrow to the rear, with the red dot above the safety tab). While the slide release (front arrow ) worked perfectly and oferred an alternative thumb rest, the safety was a problem on our sample. Though it has an ample ledge, we often had to depress it with something sturdier than our thumb to disengage it.
We liked the access of the Model 41s mag release (arrow ) the best, finding it easy to locate and engage with minimal shifting of the shooting hand.
The grip on the 41 was comfortable and provided excellent fill for the hand, thanks to the rounded back strap. We also liked the wide swath of checkering on each grip panel, which provided a sure purchase.
