We really liked this little AR-15-type carbine, particularly its collapsible stock. We also appreciated the functional flash hider and 30-round mag, things you couldn't get for a few years. This is one of the best AR-15s we've examined.

Mil-spec items means mil-spec parts and accessories work too. The K3B was set up very much to our liking, and it was a mighty handy self-defense package, we thought, within the limits of the cartridge. The top handle was fixed, so a scope would not go on easily. We preferred it unscoped. Workmanship was excellent inside and out.
As we've said before, the use of a forward assist is dubious. If the round's bad, get it out, not deeper into the rifle. But the K3B had one if you want it. It also had a shell deflector and a decent trigger pull.
The collapsible stock moved to the touch of the locking lever, arrow. There were a total of six positions into which it could be locked, about one inch apart.
All the way down made for a viable house gun, we thought.
