Kimber Rimfire Target .22 LR

Read Gun Tests Rating and Recommendation

The Kimber is a full-size 1911 set up completely for .22 LR. The matte-silver finish was outstanding, as were the trigger and overall accuracy. All the controls worked and felt like a full-sized .45 auto, but ammo was inexpensive, and there was none of the .45's recoil. We thought it was light for a 1911, but we liked this gun a lot.

Takedown was identical to that of a .45, but easier, and the parts were different inside. The action was blowback, no link, no locking lugs. Workmanship and finish were outstanding inside and out. Two easy-loading mags were provided.
The front of the slide was rounded, but other sharp edges needed a bit of attention, we thought. The steel front sight gave an excellent picture in just about any light.
