The front end of the Winchester shows two of its advantages: The fiber-optic sight is easy to see in the dark and fast to acquire, and the Defender actually included a sling stud on the end of the gun. With the molded-in stud on the stock, the gun is nearly ready to carry.
One of the things we didn't like about the Defender was its short forearm. Another two inches of grip surface on the inside part of the grip wouldn't be a bad idea.
The rear-arrow points to the action release button on the Winchester. It's in the same location as the Mossberg, but the Persuader's slightly larger, flat button is easier to manipulate, in our view. The front arrow shows the location of the safety.
