The barrel rotates in the Beretta Cougar series pistols so that the mouth of the chamber appeared to be off center at first glance. The barrel was lined with chrome.
The 8040F Inox was very comfortable to hold and shoot. The walnut grip and silvery anodized finish made this gun cosmetically attractive, we thought.
With the trigger pressed, the firing pin is released from its safety, signified by the block seen rising from atop the slide just forward of the rear sight. A portion of the trigger bar slides along the outside of the frame just above the trigger.
