The Winchester's stock lacked checkering, but we thought the quality of the wood was better than the other guns'. The crossbolt safey was mounted forward of the trigger, which we preferred.
Our only complaint was the use of a magazine retainer that required great care to remove. Prying out the washer-like piece could result in the spring and retainer shooting out suddenly.
