Les Baer Premier II .45

Read Gun Tests Rating and Recommendation

It's amazing that Les Baer could offer a gun of such quality for this price. Cost-wise the Premier II was actually toward the low end by custom 1911 standards. The Premier II provided many of the features of the more expensive guns tested, but at a considerably better price.

During accuracy testing, the Premier II shot best with Federal 165-grain Hydra Shoks at 0.9 inch. Federal 230-grain Hydra Shoks gave a group of 1 inch, as did Federal's 230-grain "Classic" JHPs. Feed reliability was flawless.
Surprising by their absence on Les Baer 1911s were full-length recoil spring guide rods. The Baer guns all used the traditional short guide rod with solid plug.
