Gun Report

Volquartsen Deluxe .17 HMR

Read Gun Tests Rating and Recommendation

Clearly the most professional-looking rifle, with its custom receiver and integral top rail, the Volquartsen was our first choice of the tested rifles. We liked the integral brake, the special trigger guard, the overall looks and the performance, all with a reasonably competitive price.

Note the big finger-lever in front of the nicely shaped trigger guard, to ease removal of the nine-shot magazine. The laminated stock could be obtained in gray if desired.
Clean lines and excellent workmanship were evident everywhere, but some of us wanted less curvature to the front of the pistol grip.
Even the bolt and its knob were custom features on this rifle. That’s a 12X Leupold. The integral rail made scope mounting a snap. The Volquartsen looked good from any angle.
