The Springfield Mil-Spec Parkerized proved more accurate than the Auto Ordnance pistol. A slightly larger outer diameter at the muzzle probably contributed to a tighter barrel lockup at the bushing. The modern white dot sight also helped.
The rear sight was tall and well defined, giving the shooter a good look at the front sight. The hood of the barrel offered a cutaway, which was just enough to perform a chamber check.
