GUN TEST GRADE: A-
Other than some minor balance and recoil problems, this rugged over and under handles and performs well. It would be a welcome addition to a waterfowler's scattergun collection.

The Ruger had a good out-of-the-box choke-tube wrench and easy-to-read chokes, both big advantages with this shotgun.
This field shotgun features target gray on all the metal, with no engraving.
The gold Ruger emblem on the pistol grip cap adds the only color to the gray-and-black gun. The non-automatic safety, which can be changed if the shotgun is sent back to the factory, also serves as the barrel selector.
