Southern Ohio Gun Wire-Stocked Romanian 7.62mm

Though we didn't care for the fixed wire stock, this Romanian AK was a decent one. Its reliability was 100 percent, and its accuracy par for an AK-47, about 6 inches at 100 yards. We liked the laminated wood forend parts, and believe most shooters would have welcomed a similar butt stock.

We would have liked this rifle if the stock folded, but it was welded straight to comply with BATF rules. That attachment on the left side of the action was grooved to accept a scope mount.
The stamped receiver and other parts were not as nice as on the Arsenal USA rifle, but were surely adequate. Both had Parkerizing finish on the metal.
Here's the wire-stock attachment on the Romanian AK. The left arrow points to the still functional spring-loaded button that used to permit folding the stock, and the right arrow points to the weld that keeps that from happening.
