The only grain in the stock was at the edge of the pistol grip and could cause splitting problems.
A thin rubber pad with a hard rubber top provided limited relief from recoil on all types of ammunition and did not help with mounting the gun into the shooter's shoulder.
The bolt release on the left side of the Conquest's receiver, top, was unhandy for our test shooters and could cause a finger or thumb to be caught in the action.
One shotgun, the ADCO Diamond (front), makes the dance while the other, a Conquest, is sent home in our search for an inexpensive “user” semi-automatic shotgun for general-purpose duty.
