The cylinder stop on the bottom belongs to the .45-70 Government model. Compared to stop found on the .450 Marlin at top, it is noticeably smaller. That's one likely reason why we had trouble with our .45-70 BFR finding the proper index when we pulled back the hammer.
Changing the front blade was the quick way to change elevation. A single screw with brass collar held the blades firmly in place.
