The Brazilian-made FAL gave a good showing of itself. Its accuracy was acceptable for a battle rifle, and it was thoroughly reliable with good metric magazines. Everything about it worked, not too muchto ask for a very serious rifle such as this.

That safety was not all that easy to reach. The British design is much better in this respect. The trigger felt a whole lot better than it measured.
Most FAL rifles mark their receivers just behind the ejection port, as this one did. The rear sight did not fold.
The FAL has clean lines. The bolt knob, located just behind the forend, didn't fold, and doesn't move during firing.
Note the checkered knob on the rear sight. Pinch it for easy adjustment. There are two opposing screws for windage adjustments. Lift upward on the rear lever to break open the rifle.
Rifle is open, bolt cover slid off, and the bolt is being withdrawn rearward.
