The heavy stainless-steel frames on the big .44s dampened recoil sufficiently that we thought the porting wasn't necessary.
The frame is shiny but the top strap is matte-finished to reduce light reflection. The front sight had a more rounded profile than the .357s.
Inside the .44s, we see a capped ejector rod (left arrow), a detent in the crane (center arrow), and a flat section on the gas-check ring (right arrow).
