This very concealable gun is capable of safely firing higher-powered rounds. But the average buyer needs to balance its light weight and versatility against its high cost and limited capacity.

Scandium, schmamdium. Though the 360S uses the unusual metal elsewhere, plain old stainless steel serves as the barrel liner.
The Hogue Bantam grip offers a wide palm swell that is beneficial to fighting uncomfortable recoil.
In the December 2001 issue, we tested two snubbies, the .38 Special +P Taurus CIA (front), which strongly resembles the enclosed-hammer design of Smith & Wesson’s Centennials, and the pricey .357 Magnum Smith & Wesson 360S, which is partially made of scandium, a metal said to be lighter and stronger than titanium.
The most often heard complaint about the 360S was the lack of comfort at the trigger face. While the trigger was smooth and radiused, a wider face would likely avoid the blistering and abrasion our shooters suffered.
For the experienced shooter who does not need extra practice but who prefers a very concealable gun capable of safely firing higher-powered rounds, this gun may be ideal.
