Gun Report

Stoeger Coach Gun 12 Gauge

Read Gun Tests Rating and Recommendation

What a bargain! This one had it all, looks, function, performance, and by far the lowest price of those tested. This gun would be idealfor the Cowboy game, and with its modest chokes could do excellent double service as a light upland game gun. We liked the beavertail forend.

Yup, the trigger guard is ugly. Also, the top lever is up in the breeze too far, but this didn't keep us from doing good and fast work with the Coach Gun.
Made by Amantino of Brazil for Stoegers, this gun had everything you need including good-enough checkering.
Note the top lever returns to center with the gun open. This gun opened fully with ease, which made for very fast and easy reloads. We would have liked the empties to be extracted a bit more, but they came out easily enough. We did not like the automatic safety.
