Our recommendation: Buy It. This was a very fine rifle, in all respects. It had fit, finish, accuracy, details, all far better than either of the other two. But there's a four-year waiting list.

The forend wood was slightly off the action, necessary for best accuracy. The large eyepiece of the rear sight touched the comb when it was set for 100 yards or longer ranges.
A small roller on the end of the action lever gave the action a very precise feeling.
No such gaps were on the Shiloh rifle at this point, though its forend was slightly off the action, which is necessary for best accuracy.
