Gun Report

Taurus M415TI .41 Magnum

Read Gun Tests Rating and Recommendation

The five-shot .44 Special we tested was a better trip to the outer limits of titanium guns. Unless lightweight frangible rounds such as those from MagSafe become available, firing full-house .41 Magnum rounds in this revolver will lead to breakage in either the gun or the shooter, in our estimation.

Though the 175-grain Winchester round was nearly bearable, we feel strengthening points (right arrow) such as the crane detent are outmatched. The trigger occasionally froze in the rearmost position when firing the 210-grain rounds. Even the benefits of the ribbed grip are overcome by the severe recoil of the .41 magnum round.
