Right and left sides of the Marlin's action. Note the tacked-on appearance of the plastic trigger guard and magazine plate. If they were inletted, the overall lines would be much improved. That sight is a Lyman Model 57 click-adjustable aperture, and it worked very well with the bead front sight.
Clean and simple was the Marlin 80-DL. The big slotted head screw permitted the barreled action to be removed from the stock.
