Trim rifle-like lines set off the functional three-shot Savage. This one required 3-inch shells and could have used a tighter choke, we thought.
Massive bolt head of Savage had one locking lug, shown at the top of photo. The bolt was easy to use, but took some practice. We could reload and aim in 1.5 seconds. Bolt lift was 60 degrees.
