The SP101 had no problem taking on magnum caliber ammunition. note the sturdy cylinder stop protruding from the frame, just below the cylinder notch (arrow).
The adjustable rear sight was much better than the notched top straps typically found on small revolvers. The rear blade was plenty tough, and the adjustment mechanism was protected inside the frame.
