Taurus Tracker 455SS4 45 ACP

Read Gun Tests Rating and Recommendation

Gun Tests Grade: B+. This was a handy revolver, we thought. The muzzle brake wasnít necessary; it added blast and dirt-catching holes. The gun had good balance and was extremely accurate with the Federal test ammo. We also liked the ribbed rubber grips and the adjustable sights. Taurus offered this with different barrel lengths, and in titanium with no muzzle brake. sadly, all have been dropped from production.

The five-shot clip for the Tracker permitted the rounds to move by as much as 15 degrees. The tipped round here is still inside the grip of the moon clip. This caused problems with speedy reloads, when a tipped round would catch on the chamber mouth. The six-shot clips didnít have this problem.
A white-outline rear and a red-insert front gave an excellent sight picture in varying light. The Tracker had accuracy to make those sights valuable. Fit and finish were excellent.
