The versatility of the CZ shotgun was enhanced by a supply of screw-in chokes. Note the small slots cut into the lip of each choke. The fewer slots, the greater constriction of the choke. Left to right they are Full, Improved Modified, Modified, Improved Cylinder, and Cylinder bore.
The extra travel of the CZ's bolt enabled us to unload the chamber without disturbing rounds in the magazine tube. Leaving a shotgun with an empty chamber but with rounds in the magazine is a preferred practice among military and law-enforcement operators.
The trigger on the CZ 712 Utility was beveled and chromed. This treatment not only looked good but helped us shoot faster by letting the finger roll across the trigger.
