A bushing wrench was supplied, but tools weren't required to break down either of our test pistols. We just pressed in on the spring cap and rotated the barrel bushing. Turning the bushing just a little further clockwise from the position shown released the recoil spring.
The Meprolight Night Sights copied the Novaks but added some grip lines as well. Black color accents were evident throughout. Note the texture of the ceramic grips. The raised areas offered a natural adhesion that remained cool to the touch.
The 8-round magazines offered an oversized basepad. We're pretty sure these magazines were designed to accommodate the extra length of an extended or funneled magazine well. Old fashioned by some standards, the lanyard loop is reportedly once again gaining favor with the military.
