The slide stop/release levers were ambidextrous. The left-side lever locked the slide in place. With takedown notches aligned, we pushed the stop pin from the right to left to free the slide. By staying attached to the frame, there was no worry about losing the slide stop.
The tail of the guide rod interacted with the barrel to provide lockup (arrow). Recoil was controlled by a captured flat wire spring surrounded by a free floating nylon bushing.
The HK P30L grip offered three sets of backstrap and panels. We used the small panels and backstrap, but the grip can be constructed with any combination of components to aid trigger technique or make the gun more comfortable to shoot.
