Gun Report

UZI (Norinco) Carbine 9mm

Read Gun Tests Rating and Recommendation

As far as value goes, we feel that the going price for the Norinco UZI is far too high. If you want an UZI based on the historical perspective, then obtain one closer to the original in appearance. If you want a good shooter, then the other carbines beat the Norinco UZI. And reliability was not good.

The UZI is speedy enough, but so were competing types when it came to rapid replenishment of the ammo supply. While it is recognizable as an UZI, the Norinco version isn’t very impressive.
The famous UZI quick-change magazine is reliable, but doesn’t have as great an advantage as some would think.
The UZI’s distinctive lines do not come across well because of the huge, poorly designed wooden stock added by Norinco, which dominated the compact action.
