Almost a copy of the Pitbull, the Undercover felt good, but with nearly no grooves in the barrel, it vastly underperformed. It functioned, so it passed, but that was as far as we can go.

On both the Pitbull and the Police Undercover, we liked the softish grips. The profiles of the grips were also thinner side to side.
The two Charters also had full-lug barrels and enclosed ejection rods. The trade-off for protecting the rods is more weight.
We were puzzled when we began shooting the Charter -- accuracy was horrible. Gunsmith Jack Everett of Jacks Gun Shack in Tactical Firearms discovered very shallow rifling grooves in the barrel.
