Ruger supplied a Weaver mount, connected by three screws to match the drilled-and-tapped receiver. We did not have to remove the rear sight to install a scope, but it did overhang the barrel with no additional support. The loaded-chamber indicator along the side (arrow) almost spoiled the impressive lines of the Mark III pistol.
Note the big thumb safety (top arrow). The left-side grip panel offered a large thumb rest (left arrow). The back of the grip was machined to feel smooth in the hand, but this is where field stripping began. The lever in the center (right arrow) is pulled down first.
The rear sight, perched atop the receiver, required two different size screwdrivers to adjust (bottom and right arrows). The bolt-stop pin was located directly behind the rear sight (left arrow).
