Gun Report

Heckler & Koch VP9 9mm Luger, $630

GUN TESTS GRADE: A
The HK pistol came off the best of the striker-fired conversions, we believe. Ergonomics are excellent. Hand fit can be customized, with more extra panels than the other handguns. The HK was the most accurate by a margin. The HK isn't the lightest handgun, but it is light enough.

The VP9 features a wide range of grip panels, allowing excellent hand fitting.
The HK VP9 cleared leather quickly and gave excellent results during the combat drills. In the opinion of our testers, the HK VP9 pulled away from the others in performance as the test progressed.
With a light rail, a good trigger, and excellent sights, the VP9 is a good personal-defense choice and deserves its solid A rating.
Building on the popular HK P30, the new VP9 seems even more accurate. Handling is excellent.
