Franchi Instinct SL No. 40815 12 Gauge

GUN TESTS GRADE: B+
For the price, we think the Franchi is a fine over-and-under shotgun quite capable of meeting the needs of most shooters. We were disappointed in its patterning, and we recommend that shooters stick to lighter loads to cut back on recoil.

Although not adjustable like the Browning, the silver-plated trigger of the Franchi did its job well. We were particularly pleased with the touch-off of 4.5 pounds on the bottom barrel and 5 pounds on the top.
Composed of aluminum alloy and with very nice jeweled metalwork on the internal parts, we liked the look of the Franchi receiver and consider it very attractive for a moderately priced shotgun.
We liked the feel and look of the Prince of Wales grip; it was a nice touch normally available in higher priced models.
