The SW1911TA ran into formidable competition in the form of the SIG TACOPS and did not suffer in comparison. The Smith is a reliable and accurate handgun. Many features of the pistol were impressive. Although practical accuracy was only slightly better than the SIG, the sum makes the S&W the gun we would buy.

The more we used the SW1911TA, the more the serrations design impressed us.

The serrated rib on the upper slide is a nice touch, helping break up barrel-heat mirage.
