Read Gun Tests Rating and Recommendation

GUN TESTS GRADE: A
The Springfield offered excellent reliability, good accuracy, and sights that offer good adjustment. It is accurate, if not quite as accurate as the Kimber. The grips supplied with the handgun are particularly attractive. All told, the Springfield not only earned a solid A rating, it is a Best Buy.

The Springfield Loaded Target showed good barrel-to-slide fit and good accuracy.
The slide-lock safety of the Springfield is hard chromed. We also liked the beavertail safety better than the Kimber.
The slide-lock safety of the Springfield isnít a gas-pedal type, but it is plenty large for rapid manipulation.
Springfield's forward cocking serrations worked well and are good additions to an all-round go-anywhere do-anything handgun, our testers said.
