Looks alone can sell this gun. Fit, pointing, and trigger make for an excellent first shot, but the Legacy’s recoil demands greater effort to maintain control for successful follow-up shots.

The appearance of the $2039 Benelli Legacy was rivaled only by its ability to mount and point. The thin forend offered superior ergonomics because its bulk did not have to hide a gas system. This also made the gun lighter, especially from beneath the support hand.
The upper portion of the action is like a cowl that slips onto the chamber end of the barrel.
The lower portion of the receiver was nickel plated and engraved with a different field scene on each side. The “28” medallion is gold plated.
The Benelli Inertia Drive system is a recoil-operated design. Simple and rugged, dependability was the Benelli’s greatest strength.
