GUN TESTS GRADE: A-
The Franchi Instinct is a reasonably priced introduction to the world of serious shotguns. Our team agreed they wouldn’t mind spending additional money to have it professionally fit.

Shooting doubles with a gun that doesn’t cycle the ammunition means that immediate recoil is the only disturbance to the sight picture as you transition to the next target. That’s just one of the reasons why our team would prefer the Franchi Instinct L over-under as their competition sub-gauge shotgun.
The Franchi featured case-hardened-color steel, mild engraving, auto ejection, and a barrel selector. The selector was turned to Safe automatically upon closing the action.
Our shooters would buy the Instinct L over/under even if we had to have it professionally fit.
The Prince-of-Wales grip was nicely checkered and visually appealing, and it also allowed the index finger to drop down to the trigger while tucking in behind the trigger guard.
