The Springfield TRP is a well made 1911. We would pay the higher price to get this superior handgun.
Part of its appeal is a hard-use Teflon-based finish, but it is also delivered with goodies, including a latchable and lockable hard case, two magazines, a plastic range holster, and magazine carrier.
The TRP's ambi safety earned high marks. Because we grade for both right- and left-handed use, an ambi safety provides an edge in the outcome. The composite G10 black-and-gray grip panels provided a firm grip on the gun that showed up in combat accuracy and control.
