The supplied 10-round magazine fed smoothly, but the detent on the release spring was weak. Together with an oversized release lever located in front of the magazine well, it was difficult to keep the magazine from accidentally dropping free.
The bolt release on the left-hand side of the stock (left arrow) and the three-position safety on the right (right arrow) were not fancy, but worked flawlessly nonetheless. The action was drilled and tapped for Leupold pattern mounts.
Our Howa Mini Action was chambered for 6.5 Grendel ammunition, top. The success of the larger 6.5 Creedmoor, bottom, is doing a lot for all cartridges that begin with "6.5." The .264-caliber offerings are increasingly popular.
