The cartridges are designed with customized head stamps and will come in specially designed embossed packaging. Also, Wayne Enterprises has introduced the John Wayne Tribute Pistol, limited to 3,500 numbered pieces.

The John Wayne Tribute .45 Pistol is a working, semi-automatic pistol. The slide is polished and decorated in 24-karat gold and nickel with a blued background.

The artwork includes inspirational words of encouragement from the Duke, as well as his signature. The grip screws, slide stop, hammer and magazine catch are polished and finished in 24-karat gold.

New Match Debuts

The NRA/Springfield Armory M1A Match will make its debut at the 2007 NRA National Rifle and Pistol Matches held at Camp Perry, –

Ohio. Springfield Armory has put up a total of $25,000 in cash and merchandise awards for the match.

“This is a unique arrangement, one that may never happen again,” said Mike Krei, Director of NRAs Competitive Shooting Division. “Springfield wanted to encourage more use of the M1A, and they were willing to sponsor all of the needed cash and product awards to make it happen at Camp Perry. So we worked together to create a brand-new match that we are certain will be very popular.”

Bill Dermody, marketing manager for Springfield Armory, said, “For many years, the M1A was the firearm of choice for rifle competition. Its fitting that for the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Camp Perry as the home of the National Matches, we are going back to our roots to use these rifles again.”

Aimpoint Sight Chosen for U.S. Army Rifles

The Aimpoint CompM4 has been standardized as the Armys new M68CCO battle-rifle sight and is now available in the North American market. The US Army awarded Aimpoint with a contract for 163,000 of these sights. The electronic components in the CompM4 allowe the new sight to run constantly for over 8 years on a single AA battery. The CompM4 features an internal voltage – regulator that allows the sight to operate on any AA size battery available worldwide.

This sight features a 2 minute-of-angle (MOA) dot size, has seven night-vision compatible settings and nine daylight settings. The CompM4 sight body is waterproof to 45 meters, includes a QRP2 Picatinny rail mount, which when used with vertical and cantilever spacers, allow the sight to fit on all M16 rifle and M4 carbine variants.

Sigarms Academy has received Veterans Administration approval for three courses. This means some qualifying shooters may be eligible to receive benefits from the VA to pay for armorer certification for Sig Sauer pistol, concealed carry pistol, and semiautomatic pistol instructor.

ThunderCharge Muzzleloader Cartridge

Smith & Wesson To Introduce “Women of the

Smith & Wesson debuted a limited-edition Women of the NRA revolver at the 2007 SHOT Show in Orlando, Florida. The designated revolver, a Smith & Wesson Model 442, is the same  revolver carried by NRA president Sandra Froman. The “Women of the NRA” gun is machine-engraved with the NRA logo on the sideplate and on the cylinder flutes. An inscription on the carbon-steel cylinder reads, “Original Defender of Freedom 2nd Amendment,” and a backstrap inscription reads “Women of the NRA.” The five-round .38 Special revolver features an aluminum-alloy frame with a blue finish.

The hammerless revolver is standard with bonded ivory grips, a black blade front sight and a fixed rear sight. The gun will be shipped in a glass-top, wooden presentation case.

Julie Goloski Wins

USPSA Triple Crown

Julie Goloski, Smith & Wesson professional shooter, has won the 2006 United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) Triple Crown.

With her victories earlier this year at the USPSA Production Nationals, Limited-10 Nationals and Provisional Single Stack Championship, Goloski becomes the first person in the organizations 22-year history to win a USPSA Triple Crown, three USPSA national titles within the same year.

“Winning all three matches in the same year is a tremendous feat and one that I take great pride in accomplishing,” said Goloski.

Dave Thomas, USPSA Executive Director said, “The USPSA Triple Crown is one of the highest achievements that can be earned by any professional shooter. Julies accomplishment is a direct result of her hard work and determination throughout the season.”

A former member of the United States Army Marksmanship Unit, Goloski is the only woman to win national titles in Open, Limited, Limited-10, Single Stack and Production divisions. She competes with a Smith & Wesson Performance Center single-stack 1911 pistol and the new M&P 9mm pistol.

Goloski looks forward to continuing her success in the upcoming 2007 competitive season. Her long list of accomplishments for 2006 includes: the reigning USPSA Ladies Production, Limited-10 and Single Stack National Champion, IDPA Ladies National Champion and the 2006 American Handgunner Ladies Stock World Champion.
