6mm Creedmoor Bolt-Actions: Barrett, Browning, and Howa

Left to right, our 6mm Creedmoor test ammunition was Hornady’s 87-grain V-Max Varmint Express, Hornady’s 103-grain ELD-X Precision Hunter, and the Black Hills Ammunition loading of Hornady’s 108-grain ELD-M bullet. At far right is a single round of 147-grain 6.5 Creedmoor ammunition for scale. Other than case-mouth diameter, the cases are identical. Precision Rifle Competition shooters have lead the way in developing loads for the smaller-diameter bullet so they can more easily trace their shots and reduce shooter fatigue.
