Rahm Pays For Violating
Second Amendment

(GunReports.com) -- Earlier this month, the city of Chicago wrote a check for $399,950 to the Second Amendment Foundation, a gun rights group located in Bellevue, Wash. The check was a reimbursement for legal fees SAF incurred in the McDonald v. Chicago case, which resulted in the United States Supreme Court overturning the city’s ban on handguns.

Like all city checks, it’s signed by Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Comptroller Amer Ahmad. The McDonald case was argued and lost by Richard M. Daley’s administration.

Ted Cruz, a U.S. Senate candidate from Texas, is using it to tweak Emanuel. Cruz posted a photo of the check on his campaign website, under the headline “Rahm Pays For Violating Second Amendment.”

The Second Amendment Foundation recently announced that it will lead the appeal of a U.S. District Court decision upholding Illinois’s ban on conceal carry. Thanks to Chicago’s $399,950, SAF will have more money to pursue that case.

From the Cruz website: “Here’s a shot of the actual check that Rahm Emanuel had to write to the Second Amendment Foundation for the City of Chicago’s violating our right to keep and bear arms.

“As the Solicitor General of Texas, I was honored to lead the States before the U.S. Supreme Court in the Heller case, which resulted in a landmark 5-4 victory, protecting our fundamental Second Amendment rights.”

Why not use the fine example already set by the 'Machine' in Chicago and Cook County---vote early and vote often...and don't forget to vote the cemetary. Use their own tactics agin'em!

I don't think we can 'fire' Chicago. I only wish we could.

My friends secede means “to withdraw formally from an alliance, federation, or association, etc.” Better men and states have seceded from this great country. What we need is to have them fired. Fired means “to dismiss from a job”.

I think there should have been a couple more zeros before the point in that check, then maybe the people would kick them out and open their eyes and enjoy some freedom and clean up the garbage.

It is time to make miscreants such as these pay for their anti-constitutional with jail time as well as personal restitution to taxpayers.

It should have read: Hard Working Citizens Tax Dollars Pay for Chicago Violating Second Amendment. That's the problem, the politicians squander people's tax money as they violate our constitutional rights.

Justice comes in many forms, and poetic justice, in this case, is sweet indeed. Enough time had elapsed since the McDonald case had been decided by the Supreme Court, that the whole affair was likely tucked away on Emanuel's "back burner" of his mind. How sweet it is when the old precept of vengeance is so aptly demonstrated....."Revenge is best served.....cold".
