The forward spring of the EMP's recoil assembly had to be captured manually using a small supplied plastic collar. With the barrel link rotated forward, the bull barrel could then pass through the slide.
On the left is an 8-round Wilson Magazine filled with 45 ACP. Most 45s come with two seven-round magazines, shown on the right. But the 40 S&W EMP arrived with three 8-round magazines. Having an 8+1 capacity means this scaled-down gun can function as a primary carry gun or as a deep concealment piece - which few others can do.
