In two different shooting sessions, we fed the GSG a range of ammo, and it malfunctioned with everything we tried. This should be a warranty fix, so we’re returning the gun to the manufacturer. If it comes back and functions properly, we expect it will rival the Umarex Colt.

When it worked, we liked the fit and feel of the GSG. Great sights, good trigger, true 1911 feel.
Here’s what happened all too often with the GSG: a variety of failures to eject, failures to feed, and light primer strikes.
We tried several different standard-velocity and high-velocity rounds, but the gun had trouble with everything.
