Did you know that a retired associate justice of the United States Supreme Court had penned a New York Times op-ed entitled, “John Paul Stevens: Repeal the Second Amendment”? In his op-ed, Stevens (nominated by a Republican president) praises the work of the March for Our Lives organizers and urges the group to “seek more effective and more lasting reform” via a “repeal of the Second Amendment.” He calls the Second Amendment a “relic of the 18th century.”

Did you know that moviemaker Michael Moore has a Facebook page that starts, “My Proposal to Repeal the Second Amendment and Replace It With This.” He then goes on to cite a proposed 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution that reads: “A well regulated State National Guard, being helpful to the safety and security of a State in times of need, along with the strictly regulated right of the people to keep and bear a limited number of non-automatic Arms for sport and hunting, with respect to the primary right of all people to be free from gun violence, this shall not be infringed.”

Did you know that Karen Carter Peterson, chair of the Louisiana Democratic Party and vice chair of the Democratic National Committee recently tweeted, “Repeal the Second Amendment.” The tweet linked to Stevens NYT article mentioned above.

Did you know that MoveOn.org has an active petition drive with more than 5000 signatures that is headlined, “Repeal the Second Amendment Now.” Then below, there’s language that reads, “This anachronistic, poorly worded amendment prevents us from passing real gun control measures that will be effective in stopping the ongoing gun slaughter. It should be no more a constitutional right to own a gun than to own a car.”

Did you know a recent survey covered in the Washington Post asserts that “One in five Americans wants the Second Amendment to be repealed.”

Did you know that television personality Larry King has supported repealing the Second Amendment because it is poorly worded.

Did you know that New York Times columnist Bret Stephens had called for repeal the Second Amendment, saying “There is something kind of aggressively and inhumanly repetitive about this line that guns are essential to American liberties, hard one to stomach when so many thousands of people are dying every year for this so-called liberty.”

Did you know there’s a Facebook page called “Repeal the Second Amendment?”

Did you know that an amendment to the Constitution has actually been repealed? The 18th Amendment. It can happen. The question is, will gun owners fight to keep the Second Amendment?
