The dimensions of the stock did not offer a quality fit for most members of our team, making the shotgun uncomfortable to shoot. Note the safety on the top of the receiver which we liked and the action release at the back of the trigger guard; which we did not like.
Like the Winchester, this basic forearm provided an acceptable grip. However the Mossberg failed to feed a second round into the chamber several times. Note the ventilated rib, which also featured a mid-bead in addition to a brass front sight.
Our four test guns are all suited to hard and dirty field work, but the lowest-price gun, the Mossberg, just didn't stand up to the others, in our view.
