The suffix “L” signified the pistol was equipped with Springfield’s Internal Locking System. This key turned an unobtrusive lock 90 degrees, preventing the mainspring from being compressed. This keeps the hammer locked in the down position.
The black Parkerized finish made the gun so stealthy you may not notice the Novak night sights, skeletonized hammer, high beavertail grip safety and ambidextrous thumb safeties. These standard features were strictly custom not too long ago.
