A well made rifle with good metal-to-wood fit. The blueing is deep, and the metal well polished. While the barrel twist is in the middleof the road, this feature offers the round ball and bullet shooterthe versatility of using one rifle.

The lock does not employ the traditional leaf-style spring, but rather uses a coil spring, which is faster and more reliable. Care should be taken to make sure the spring is cleaned regularly because this area collects fouling and can rust easily.
The rear sight is adjustable. It is a slight drawback for this rifle since it is not a traditional style rear sight, but it is functional. T/C also offers other sight options, including scope bases.
